Patient Data Extraction:
NHS England has commissioned a data system intended to allow services to be tailored to support the health needs of all patients. During 2014, a national programme to extract certain elements of patient data will be begin. Patients who do not wish their data to be extracted should advise reception so this can be noted on their patient record. You can get further information from the website at www.hscic.gov.uk

Important traffic control measures:
In response to patient feedback and the danger of traffic entering the surgery car park from the wrong direction we have now added traffic control measures that may damage your vehicle if signs are ignored and the surgery is accessed by the no entry 'exit '.

Improving access to general practice:
Evening and weekend appointments now available
Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a GP or nurse on some weekday evenings (after 6.30pm) or to see a nurse on alternate Saturday mornings.  Please ask reception for more information. Additionally, patients can attend the weekend service at Ivy Court Surgery, Tenterden on Saturday morning 9am to 12pm or Hamstreet Surgery on Sunday mornings, 9am to 12pm. These clinics are for urgent appointments only, and are not bookable in advance.  Please see the ‘Opening Times’ page for more information.

GP Online Service:
Patients registered with Charing Surgery can now book some appointments and request repeat prescriptions, by using ‘GP online services’ which can be accessed on smartphones or from any PC at a time convenient to patients.  This service works alongside traditional methods of accessing services, it does not replace them. To register for GP online services, including booking blood tests on line and ordering repeat medication, please drop in to the surgery and ask us to register you for Patient Online Access.

Named GP:
Please note that all of our patients have been allocated a named GP and should you wish to find out who your allocated GP is, please ask at reception who will be pleased to let you know.
