Flu Vaccinations 2020

Dear Patient

Flu vaccination programme for the patients of Charing Surgery

Due to coronavirus infection control restrictions we are unable to offer patients a walk in service at the pharmacy.  Instead we will be holding clinics on Saturday 3rd and Saturday 17th October at the surgery.  Patients eligible to receive the flu vaccination will be invited either by text or email or letter.

Eligible patients are:

  • people aged 65 years or over (including those becoming age 65 years by 31 March 2021)
  • 18 to 64 years of age, in a clinical risk group

Please note that NHS England has advised that the flu vaccination for people who are aged 50 to 64 and who are not in an at risk group, will not available until November at the earliest, and then only if there is sufficient vaccine.

These clinics are for over 18’s only. Children – will be called into the surgery separately to see a nurse during normal surgery time.

Please do not call the surgery to confirm that you will be attending as this will block the phone lines

To ensure the clinics run quickly and smoothly, and to ensure the safety of patients and staff, we ask our patients to adhere to the following guidance:

  • Do not attend if you, or a member of your household, currently have symptoms of COVID-19 or if you are self-isolating due to contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19.
  • Wear a mask
  • We need to reach your shoulder. Wear readily removable clothing and please expose your arm ready
  • Please attend in the right time slot as outline below
  • Whilst queuing to enter the surgery, please adhere to social distancing
  • Please do not attend unless you fall into these eligible groups as we will have to turn you away

Please remember:

J - JUST the flu jab. No time is allocated for other medical problems

A - ARM ready. We need to reach your shoulder. Wear readily removable clothing.  Please expose your arm ready
