Automated dispensing point
We have installed an automated dispensing point, one of the first to be installed in Kent.
After installing one of the first robotic dispensing equipment in the country many years ago, we have now installed an automated dispensing point.
The dispenser is located in an external wall of the pharmacy and accepts credit and debit card payments (where a payment needs to be made).
Patients can collect prescriptions seven days a week, between 6am and 10pm. It is free to use and once signed up to have prescriptions dispensed through the collection point, patients receive a six-digit pin-code via text, advising them when their prescription is ready to collect.
We were delighted that Cllr Gerry Clarkson, Leader of Ashford Borough Council and the Ward Member for Charing, officially unveiled the collection point and to tried it out for himself, on Friday 23rd September. Cllr Clarkson said: I know from personal experience that this practice and pharmacy provides an essential service not only to the people of Charing but also for those living in more rural communities for many miles around. The partners and staff who work here must be commended for continuing to find new ways of serving their patients.”
For more information about the collection point and to sign up for collections vis the dispensing point, please ask in the pharmacy. Please note refrigerated items, liquid medications and controlled drugs cannot be kept in the dispensing point.
