Saturday The surgery is open on some Saturday mornings and appointments may be booked in the normal ways.


  • How Do I...Obtain Telephone Advice?:
    • We appreciate that surgeries sometimes become fully booked, making it difficult to discuss a problem with your doctor.
      We are also aware that advice is often all that is needed.
      To this end there are a number of bookable telephone consultation appointments available for each partner on most days.

  • How Do I...See A Doctor?:
    • Appointments are generally available with the practice doctors between 8.00 - 11.30am and 2.00 - 5.30pm on a weekday except for Tuesday and Wednesday when appointments start at 7.00am.

      Charing Surgery uses the Advanced Access appointment scheme, which ensures improved access for all patients by enabling appointments to be booked with a doctor within 24-48 hours.
      To this end we limit our pre-booking of routine appointments to three weeks ahead.

      However, the busiest time is between 8.00-10.00am and therefore for non-urgent appointments we would request you ring later in the morning.

      Please note that between 1.00 and 2.00pm the phone lines are closed except for emergency calls.
      There are morning and afternoon surgeries each weekday and the advanced access system is carefully monitored to enable each day's demand to be covered by available appointments.
      This should mean that you are able to see the doctor of your choice on the day requested.
